LMN Vs Nimbooz : Where one wins over the Other

LMN a product and Nimbooz by Pepsico company have been catering to the same segment of the market ...but quite obviously one wins over the other ....any guesses who is the winner ?

Quite surprisingly the answer is not Nimbooz by Pepsi but LMN by Parle agro and this brings one important point which we learnt in the B-classes, SCM or Supply chain Management is the key if we have to win the customer mind and hearts.

Let us look more closely .. Nimbooz was launched at least 2 months ahead than Nimbooz but if we look around today LMN is more ubiquitous than Nimbooz , so where did Pepsico go wrong ? simply Nimbooz focussed more on the advertisement blitz than creating a robust platform where it can be made available to the people .. honestly I have not been able to find Nimbooz in any shop in Chennai.

The other question is whether the shopkeeper are ready to accept it and shelf it in their shops ...

Keeping all these in minds one thing is for sure... Parle was able to take its drink to the masses because it was able to create a better SCM solution than Pepsico ...

Hi,
This does come across as a good post, backed with some analytical thinking. Keep it going!
However, 'just wanted to bring up a couple of things:
1. There is NO beverage called LML from Parle. It is actually spelt LMN (a smart abbreviation for Lemon). LML happens to be a 2-wheeler maker.
2. It is no wonder (and definitely no mistake) in you not finding Nimbooz at your local shops. As of July 15th - the day you wrote this post - Nimbooz was NOT launched in South India and hence, there is no question of any SCM around it - leave alone the quality and rigour of it. Nimbooz was launched in the South only yesterday - the 27th of July. The North and West launches of the product happened in Feb and the ads were meant for those regions. However, you came across it because they were aired on popular channels which were national in nature, leading people like us from other regions seeing it.
As for getting hold of the product, stay tuned. Pepsico is working on a major sampling campaign and hence, very soon, somebody might approach you with a bottle of Nimbooz that you can taste, before you go and buy one off the shelves of a retailer.

After that, do write in about your feedback of Nimbooz. Also, a gentle word of caution to double-check your facts when you are writing about a product on a public forum.

All the best!

Thanks,
Deepak

Thanks a ton Deepak for pointing out the Typo error..

Just by looking at the posts I do feel that you are working with PEPSICO.... :)

Well, I did get Nimbooz in Chennai at a MORE store, but that was only once and keeping that in perspective what you say makes perfect sense.
I will look forwards to the product...
